Feng Shui Tips for Colors

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Feng Shui colors can have a serious effect on our mental state in a range of different ways. Colors do have an impact on our desires, energy levels and mood, as a matter of fact that's the purpose of colors in the universe in the first place, otherwise everything would've been just black and white. Everyone has noticed how changing the color of a given room totally changes the way a person feels in it and that's just an example of how Feng Shui colors affect us.

Applying colors as defined by the rules of the ancient mixture of art and science called Feng Shui. It is in fact a quite practical way to change the way you feel in the physical spaces that you inhibit. The whole process is easy to carry out as you don't have to go as far as completely repainting your house or apartment just to feel a positive difference in your life. Sometimes all that it takes is to paint a single wall with a new color. Or, the case might be as simple as adding certain accessories or pieces to add a new sense of rhythm and feel about the given area.

Bottom line is that there is a lot of common sense about Feng Shui colors and how they work in general. As we all know, colors act as a transmitter of a given type of energy, which could be positive or negative. What's important to understand here is that Feng Shui is based on five different elements: Earth, Wood, Metal, Water and Fire. Each of these elements is responsible for a given aspect of our lives and is also assigned a particular group of colors. Depending on what we need to improve, we can stimulate ourselves by adding certain Feng Shui colors to our living spaces. That's the whole philosophy behind Feng Shui colors.

In the context of Feng Shui colors, green is associated with nature and thus it's also a symbol of new beginnings in life. Green will bring energy to a room and has a refreshing effect on our psychology.

Red is one of the most powerful colors connected with energy, warmth and power. It's also thought to be related to reputation and fame. Red is considered to bring confidence and good luck.

White on the other hand is related to purity, new beginnings and creativity thus it's the perfect color to paint your children's room with. Black is connected to money, power and authority. But black is not the type of color that you would want to paint your walls with, it should be used in small amounts in a room, because having too much black in a room can give a feeling of depression and despair.

Blue is associated with the knowledge and experience, hence it's the type of color that stimulates a feeling of peacefulness, calmness and relaxation. Yellow is symbolizes health in terms of Feng Shui colors. Yellow promotes mental concentration and intelligence, so it's a good pick for your office.
