ERP Vendors in Indian Market

Enterprise resource planning systems are MIS (Management Information systems) that integrate all business process in central database. It automates the business practices associated with the production, operations and distribution aspects of an organization engaged in manufacturing products or services.

There are few well-known ERP vendors available in India. In SAP R/3, R stands for real time and 3 stands for three tier architecture (Database layer, Application layer and Client layer). SAP software has a very high level of integration among its individual applications.

Oracle Corporation was founded in 1977. It is the world's number one company involved in the development of database management systems, tools for database development. They are also in enterprise resource planning software. The Oracle e-Business Suite includes software that perform financial, manufacturing, materials, marketing and HRIS related functions.

Microsoft has launched two products Axapta (AX) and Navision (NAV). Microsoft Dynamics AX is an adaptable business management solution to streamline the business practices. Microsoft Dynamics NAV is basically designed for small and medium size company. It is a cost effective solution that can be customized for your organization.

QAD produces MFG/PRO Enterprise Resource Planning software for six main verticals; Automotive, Consumer Products, Electronics, Food and Beverage, Industrial Products and Life Sciences. MFG/PRO ERP software is containing multiple optional modules like manufacturing, marketing, material and add-on modules like AIM Warehousing and Trade Management.

Infor is a global provider of Enterprise Resource Planning for manufacturing, distribution, chemical, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage and other business verticals. It is the world 3rd largest ERP Company in the world.

Oracle, SAP, 3i-Infotech, Ramco Systems, Godrej, Intentia, ESS have developed integrated systems for small and midsize company. They have developed and launched their enterprise solution for various verticals like FMCG, Retail, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronics, Hire Purchase, Dairy, Engineering, Jewelry etc. Every organization has a different transactional system that records the information from its most important business practices. Be careful in selecting the software or vendor for your organization. Always chose right software for your organization. It should be made for same vertical. It is very difficult to change or upgrade installed integrated software.
