How to Become a Top ERP Consultant

An ERP consultant is accountable for facilitating the day-to-day activities of the supply chain for business. Usually large organization deploys a staff of consultant. Small organization takes this service by vendors. Consultant should be industry expert having 3-4 years of experience in specific field, and proper certification from reputed ERP training institute.

Consultant profile - You should be graduate major in engineering or computer science. If you have business management degree, this would be added advantage. Any person can become an ERP consultant if he is ready to take this challenge. Ideally engineering degree combined with a business degree and experience differentiates yourself from the competition you'll be facing. Consultants are continually using the newest concept in business software and provide better option to the organization.

You should learn all the basics of ERP software system, their integration, implementation, database, etc. Educate yourself completely by learning different modules to master the use of the software system. These modules are used by consultants providing business process solutions. Before starting the training session it is advisable to learn the basics of several different applications from different manufacturer. Read all possible tutorial to polish your skills and develop and concept. After developing the concept you can choose training program based on your interest and skills.

ERP consultancy area is wide. It is recommended to learn all ERP software, because diverse skill helps you to get job in this highly competitive and challenging field. Learn fundamentals of at least 4-5 modules. Do not except a higher salary in the staring if you are fresher, work in industry with experience you will get good package. If you have prior experience in any industry for the specific roles and you have completed your training in same roles, you can get good job offers.
